REEPA suggest some technical steps to be taken while furnishing your net-metering application to avoid hassles from DISCOM department.
1.Single Line Diagram – It is the key chapter to Bible (rule book of DISCOM) which need to be followed strictly, a right single diagram not only helps Discom but also required for a safer installation. It is basically a diagram showing inter-connection of your Solar Plant components.
You SLD (Single line diagram) should mention how the current flows from panel will reach to grid tie inverter along with grid connection and load connectivity. Please ensure to have circuit breaker for safety of system. Earthing of Solar PVs, Inverter, ACDB & DCDB is required for safety and compliance.
Sample SLD is given below:

2.Array Diagram – It shows how combination of panels are designed. Not many people bothered to considered this but ideally your array connection should be clearly defined for proper output and understanding the array with minute details. It is also better to back trace the faulty array.
A sample Array diagram is given below:

3.Choosing a right Meter – Apart from your Energy meter, a Netmeter or Bi-directional meter should be chosen as per your requirement like Load, 1-Phase or 3-Phase, test reports, make etc.
In cases where three phase meters can work on single phase or not? Answer is Yes. Even if you had a three-phase connection and you want to install single phase meter that also is possible and lot of Discom had furnished net-metering as well on same.
